PDF Annotate Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

PDF Annotate is a document-editing app for Mac, iPhone and iPad made by Desirable Apps. It is designed so that your documents and your activity stay on your devices.

What the app collects

Nothing. PDF Annotate does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, usage analytics, or crash reports on any server. It has no accounts and no advertising.

Your documents

The PDF files you open and the annotations you add stay in the location you chose: on your device, or in iCloud Drive or another storage provider if that is where the file lives. The app only reads and writes the files you open or create, and does so using the standard system document picker and file access controls.

Photos and images

When you add an image from your photo library, the app uses the system photo picker. The app receives only the photos you select and never has access to your library as a whole. Selected images are embedded in the PDF you are editing and are not sent anywhere.

Settings stored on your device

The app remembers your tool preferences, such as the ink colour and line width, in local app storage on your device. These are never transmitted.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code, and makes no network connections of its own.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
